Personally, I hate using GChat in Gmail, because the notifications are obnoxious and the screens become cluttered in no time, so I only use GChat in Adium (along with everything else). Adium can’t do this though:
I do, however, video conference over TokBox with my friends and we can embed videos and watch the same youtube at the same time.
