Where the World is Headed

As an aspiring product designer (no, not architect—or rather, product architect if you will), boy am I glad to be a social media enthusiast. To all my friends who tell me I “waste” too much time online… this is where the world is headed. You guys will eventually jump on the bandwagon as well.

I WISH I WENT TO CES!—next time I know better. Basically, the latest upcoming TVs, cameras are all integrating wifi/online uploading/downloading capabilities. This aiint the future—this is NOW. We goin’ web 3.0 already, I can feel it in my bones.

This is pretty cool too:

Forget designer watches, I want a phone on my wrist.

Another major trend is everything is becoming touch-screen. This exhilarates me because I’m genuinely interested in convenient product user interfaces. Human/product interaction is something I really focus on and try to address in our Berkeley Innovation projects.

I also digg the trend towards “customization”—that means something to designers and artists like me.

  • There was some great stuff at CES 2009...I wish I could've been there!
